
Seiko Kobayashi is an actress, dancer and theatre maker. She graduated from the Toho-Gakuen College of Drama in Tokyo 2000 and went on to work professionally with well respected directors Yukio Ninagawa (2000-2002) and Kazuyosihi Kushida (2003-2004) as an actress in musicals such as Annie, and West Side Story. Seiko then went to the École Internationale de Théatre Jacques Lecoq in Paris, France, where she completed the two year professional acting course. Since graduating in 2006 Seiko became a founding member of Theatre Ad Infinitum based in London and helped to research and develop the company’s debut Behind the Mirror which later became a success at the Edinburgh Festival in 2008. She worked with Compagnie Ahuri Théatre co-directing Peer Gynt at Space 107 in Tokyo, 2006, she performed as Antigone in the well known Greek classic directed by Peter Gossner and toured in Japan and Germany 2007. She then worked with Akira Shirai as a performer in The Three Penny Opera in Osaka 2007 after which she joined The Pappa Theatre Company and performed in a dark version of Cinderella as the title role performed in Tokyo. Recently Seiko has worked with John Caird on Private Lives (Coward) performing in Osaka. She is currently working as assistant director/performer with theatre ad infinitum on their next project in London.
