About the Company

Theatre Ad Infinitum is an international ensemble of theatre-makers based in Bristol, UK, that develops new and original theatre for diverse audiences.

Founded in 2007, Theatre Ad Infinitum is lead by Co-Artistic Directors, Nir Paldi and George Mann, and has been creating and touring critically acclaimed, award-winning productions for 10 years.

Theatre Ad Infinitum’s mission is to create theatre that examines social and political themes through innovative storytelling and bold experimental styles, making something completely different each time; to work with an international ensemble of talented practitioners, making theatre that draws upon the power of the body and movement; and to challenge, move and provoke global audiences by igniting passionate debate about urgent issues.

Theatre Ad Infinitum is proud to be Associate Artist at Redbridge Drama Centre (2009-2017) and Associate Artist Alumni at Bush Theatre (2011-2013) and The Lowry (2011-2017).

A Brief History…

In 2008 Theatre Ad Infinitum made a name for itself at the Edinburgh Festival where the company was named the Observer’s Best of Fringe (Behind the Mirror). In 2009 the company’s Odyssey won The Stage Award for Best Solo Performer, and was shortlisted for a Total Theatre Award in 2010. Their third piece, The Big Smoke, won an Argus Angel Award in 2011, a nomination for a Manchester Theatre Award and Canadian Dora Award, and won the United Solo Festival’s Best International Show Award in New York USA in 2014. Translunar Paradise, their fourth piece, received the 1st Prize BE Festival Development Award in 2010 as a work-in-progress. Then, in 2011, the finished production won a raft of awards including: the Fringe Review ‘Outstanding Theatre Award’ (Edinburgh 2011), The Observer’s Alternative Award 2011, the Brave New World Award at MESS International Theatre Festival, Sarajevo 2011, the Liverpool Daily Post – Best Fringe Show Award 2011, and a second consecutive Argus Angel Award 2012 (Brighton Fringe). The production toured the globe for over four years including a three month tour of Brazil Feb-May 2013, and a sell out run at Barbican as part of the London International Mime Festival. In 2013 the company’s 5th show, Ballad of the Burning Star, received three awards at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2013 including Ad Infinitum’s 2nd Stage Award, this time for Best Ensemble, and numerous award nominations. Light world premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2014 where it was met with critical acclaim and nominated for a Total Theatre Award. Light went on to sell out its’ London Premiere at Barbican as part of the London International Mime Festival, where it received a five star review in The Times, and enjoyed a national tour which gained the show a nominated for a Manchester Theatre Award. Town Hall Cherubs, a commission by Battersea Arts Centre and the company’s first show for children aged 18 months to 5 years –it went on to become a critically acclaimed Christmas Show running for six weeks December to January 2016 and was nominated for an Off West End Award – Best Production For Young People (ages 0-7). Bucket List, Ad Infinitum’s latest production is currently in production and will premiere at the Edinburgh Festival this summer.
